Yep, Jenny McCarthy’s the New “View” Co-Host
Onetime nudie model/MTV personality/failed autism theorist Jenny McCarthy is indeed the new View co-host, as had been rumored for weeks.
“We are delighted that Jenny will be joining us as a permanent co-host on The View starting in September,” affirmed the mummified remains of Barbara Walters on Monday’s show. “Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor. She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter for The View. ”
“I’m beyond thrilled to be joining Barbara and the other amazing women at the table,” says McCarthy, whose activities of late have included a “racy” TV ad for Carl’s Jr., so we can obviously take the “thrilled” part of her statement at face value. “I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off.”
Ain’t she a stitch?
Besides filling the resident blonde spot vacated last week by Elisabeth Hasselbeck, McCarthy may well use her new pulpit to continue propagating ill-informed opinions as to how childhood vaccinations cause autism. But at least we’ll be spared further heavily air-brushed pictorials in Playboy and cinematic abortions like Dirty Love , written by McCarthy and directed by then-husband John Asher; they divorced the same month the “movie” was released.
She’s currently dating Donnie “Not Mark” Wahlberg, so that’s something.
Replacements for Walters and Joy Behar are yet to be named, but here’s hoping it’ll be Tina Yothers and Amanda Bynes.
